The PIRB is back on the road!
In a continuous quest to empower and celebrate plumbers, the PIRB closed off customer appreciation month in South Africa’s northernmost province, Limpopo. April was a month dedicated to honouring the people responsible for transporting water, plumbers!
After a successful start of the Roadshow in Gauteng, Limpopo did not fall any short. On the 25th of April, World Hug a Plumber Day, the PIRB was greeted with warm hugs from both plumbers and the dedicated staff at BUCO, Polokwane. We were met by plumbers from different walks of life, but with one thing in common, a willingness and dedication to bettering themselves and the plumbing industry.
Solomon Lekalakala, our make-believe ‘son of David’ shared his sentiments about the PIRB’s visit to Limpopo’s capital, describing the engagement as ‘informative’ and ‘inspirational’. “I travelled on my bike when I heard that you guys are coming to our province. I am already qualified so I set aside the date just to meet you guys. I am really glad I did, now I get to register with you!” he said excitedly whilst laying his bicycle on the ground.
Solomon’s curiosity was the catalyst for more unqualified and unlicensed plumbers to ask questions. He was well-known for his pride in being a plumber, by both fellow plumbers and the staff at BUCO. We would meet and engage like-minded plumbers on the 26th of April at our visit to Build It, Nylstroom. The plumbers had a great desire to get themselves licenced and become the best in their regions, a characteristic of a true professional plumber.
The plumbers had a great relationship with the staff, a representation of the amalgamation of the different sectors in the plumbing industry. One that ties together the objective of the Plumbing Industry Roadshow: to work together with Plumbing role players to uplift this incredible industry.
Thank you BUCO and Build It!
Our journey continues next month, and we will be rising with the sun in Mpumalanga. Our first stop will be in Plumblink, Middleburg on the 23rd of May. The following day, 24 May we will be meeting plumbers at Build It, Secunda.
See you on the road!
